Suicide Prevention Program

The Suicide Prevention Team is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Veterans’ Crisis Line is available daily 24 hours. If you experience suicidal thoughts or just need support outside of business hours, please contact the Veterans’ Crisis Hotline at 1-800-273-8255 and press 1 after your call is answered.

Remember to be aware of these warning signs in yourself and others:

  • Thinking about hurting or killing yourself
  • Looking for ways to kill yourself
  • Talking about death, dying or suicide
  • Self-destructive behavior such as drug abuse or self-injury
  • Hopelessness, feeling like there’s no way out
  • Anxiety, agitation, sleeplessness, mood swings
  • Feeling like there is no reason to live
  • Rage or anger
  • Engaging in risky activities without thinking
  • Increasing alcohol or drug abuse
  • Withdrawing from family and friends
