Blues Bring Joy to JB Veterans

Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk (L) and forward Jamie Langenbrunner talk hockey with veteran Scott Thompson at the Jefferson Barracks spinal cord unit.
The St. Louis Blues, with new head coach Ken Hitchcock at the helm, are busy racking up wins and making an early run towards the top of the Western Conference standings. Even with all the great play on the ice and excitement surrounding the team, forward Jamie Langenbrunner and defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk made time to visit some veterans at the Jefferson Barracks campus spinal cord unit.
Langenbrunner and Shattenkirk thanked each veteran for their service and signed St. Louis Blues hockey pucks, posters and schedules for everyone they visited. Blues players visit the St. Louis VAMC veterans regularly and really enjoy talking with them and lifting their spirits as they undergo and recover from medical treatments.
