The Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Program for Spinal Cord Injuries/Disorders (SCI/D) seeks to maximize the physical, medical, psychological, educational/vocational, and social functioning of the individual with spinal cord dysfunction to the extent possible, depending on the patient’s general medical condition, neurologic impairment, personal and financial resources, and motivation.
We are one of 24 Department of Veterans Affairs SCI/D Centers. This Center was established in 1974 and serves a five state area, providing a comprehensive rehabilitation program to individuals with spinal cord injuries/disorders. Our program is staffed by an experienced interdisciplinary team, many of whom are recognized in their fields as experts. Physicians are Board-Certified in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine and/or in their specialty areas. The team averages 10 years of experience in rehabilitating individuals with spinal cord injury and excels in collaborating, communicating, and advocating for the needs of patients to optimize their rehabilitation outcomes.

All patients who meet the admission criteria are eligible to be screened for admission to the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Program for Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders, even if they have not previously utilized the VA for medical care.
