- Energy care provides energy-related services and information for the low-income elderly, ill, disabled and families with young children in St. Louis city and county.

- A utility or heating bill assistance program for the disabled and elderly, help for low-income households and for those, because of unexpected expenses and bills such as birth or death in the family, find themselves unable to pay their energy or heating bills. HeatShare provides payments and grants toward electricity, natural gas, propane, fuel oil, heating or wood bills. In addition note that grants may be available for emergency repairs to air conditioners, furnaces, hot water heaters and other energy related equipment or for repairs to broken doors or to windows.

- The Dollar More assistance program can help the needy and low-income pay their energy and utility bills. The funds can be used to pay a wide range of home energy and utility bills. The funds can be used to pay a wide range of home energy bills including heating, electric, gas, fuel oil and propane. A network of human service agencies and non-profits throughout Missouri runs the program for the utility company.
- Operation Weather Survival (OWS) is made up of a coalition of St. Louis city and county agencies, social service agencies, non-profits, utilities, and health organizations in the community that meet regularly to address the needs of those most vulnerable in severe weather. Usually the elderly and the low-income are provided aid. AmerenUE provides air conditioning units and minor weatherization to the most vulnerable under the auspice of OWS. - Provides energy and heating bill assistance and grants ranging from $100 to $600 to low-income and other qualified applicants. Heat-Up St. Louis Inc. is an all-volunteer, regional charity that focuses on helping the disabled low-income and elderly individuals and families with paying their delinquent energy bills. Help is available both in St. Louis and throughout the following counties. Call the agencies listed above for more information or to apply for help.

- Cool-Down St. Louis’s main objective in the summer is to build awareness in avoiding heat-related illnesses and deaths, especially among the elderly, disabled and needy families with small critically-ill children.

- Collects and distributes funds to local organizations and families in need throughout a six-county service area.

- DHI provides funds and emergency assistance to low-income, elderly and disabled households in the community. Grants and financial aid are awarded on an as-needed basis by local social-service agencies and charities when all public funds for energy bill assistance have been exhausted and used up.

- Call one of the locations listed below and fill out an application by the end of May to receive a $25 discount off your electric bill for the months of June, July and August. If you are late to sign up, the discount will be extended by one month. Can be received for up to 2 years.

The Ameren Illinois Military Support Program (AIMS) Tel. 800-755-5000
- AIMS provides energy grants of up to $300 to help pay electric bills for qualifying active members of the military and disabled veterans. Additional benefits such as exemption from late charges, deposit waivers and additional payment agreements.
