Veterans returning home from overseas combat deployments deserve special thanks and recognition by VA and the community. The VA St. Louis Health Care System’s annual Welcome Home celebration provides this and the resources our veterans deserve for their sacrifices.
VA staff and volunteers will transform the historic Jefferson Barracks campus into a resource and activity center on Saturday, June 22 allowing veterans to do everything from signing up for VA health care to finding a job. The VA will showcase many of its services and programs as well as services provided through our community partners. Welcome Home’s centerpiece is a brief, but formal program at 10:45 a.m. that includes a medallion presentation to each OEF/OIF/OND service member.
All veterans, their families and the St. Louis community are invited to come to Jefferson Barracks on Saturday, June 22 to thank and show support for America’s veterans. This is a free and family friendly event open to the public. For more information, contact Lewis Gray at (314) 652-4100, ext. 57635.
Registration for Welcome Home is easy. Veterans just fill out the registration form and return it to Lewis Gray at (314) 289-7999 (fax); Danel.Gray@VA.Gov (email); or by mailing the form to 915 N. Grand Blvd., Bldg. 05T, St. Louis, MO 63106.
VA is seeking government and community partners to join this event and set up information booths to assist veterans as they transition from the armed forces to non-military life. Many veterans are returning and find themselves facing legal, housing, employment and financial difficulties. Your organization can play a pivotal role in assisting and supporting our service members through this transition. For information on your organization operating a free booth at this event, please contact (314) 289-6393 or email Travis.Austin@VA.Gov.
