Welcome to the VA St. Louis Health Care System!

To help you prepare for New Employee Orientation please read the information below.

We look forward to having you as part of our team.

Where to Report

Day 1 - 8:00 a.m. Jefferson Barracks, Bldg. 1 Lobby. A Representative will greet you. (the building with the flag pole in front of it--JB map **)

Day 2 - 8:00 a.m. John Cochran, Grand Blvd. Main Entrance. A Representative will greet you. 

Day 3 - For computer training, report to John Cochran Bldg. 2 room 126 at 8:30 a.m. If you do not have computer training, report to your work station at your normal tour of duty.

New Employee Orientation Dress Code

All clothing must be clean, neat, and professional. Business casual is appropriate. After completing orientation you will dress according to the guidelines required of your duty station.

Be prepared to present the following at orientation:

1.  Employee ID Badge Requirements

  • Two (2) Forms of identification (Acceptable forms of Identification **)
  • One State or Federal ID must contain a photograph
  • The names on the identification must match exactly (If one ID has a full middle name, and the other has a middle initial, then the initial must match)
  • Both IDs must be original documents
  • Both IDs must be currently valid, not expired

2.  Parking Pass Requirements

  • Parking Pass Information: vehicle description, License plate number, and VIN number

3.  Payroll Requirements

  • All new Federal employees are required to receive Federal wage and salary payments through Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer (DD/EFT).  Please bring a VOIDED check from an existing checking account or the banking information from a new account.  You will need to know the bank routing number for direct deposit.

Parking

Day 1- Park in the Orange Parking Lot behind Building 3 at Jefferson Barracks **. Proceed to the Lobby of Building 1 where you will be greeted by a Representative.

Day 2- Allow 15 minutes extra for parking at John Cochran. Park in the Scottish Rite parking garage on Olive **, 1 block south of the Fox Theatre. Upon entering the Scottish Rite garage you will be issued a ticket that will need to be validated to exit the garage. Tickets can be validated on the shuttle or at the information desk near the main entrance of the hospital.  Wait for the shuttle near the entrance of the garage. The shuttle will drop you off at the Ambassador Entrance of the hospital. From there, you will need to make your way to the main entrance to meet your employee orientation representative.

Day 3- If you have received your parking pass, you may park in any of the designated areas your pass allows. Review the parking map links below to view available lots
